This was a super small batch that I couldn’t wait to make. And as soon as I can get my hands on more fresh yuzu, I’m going to make more. Also, if you see yuzu anywhere, PLEASE let me know!

This ice cream is the homemade creme fraiche base, with bits of candied yuzu peel. Yuzu is a Japanese citrus fruit, and the best way I can describe it is like a lemony-lime grapefruit. Yuzu is more seeds than juice, so I candied the peels so you get the sweet and the tart, which is perfectly balance with the creme fraiche. I think this is one of my favorites ever.
