It’s all in the name….Lindsay’s Handmade. That’s what I do!

If your ice cream has candied figs in it, I candied them myself. If it has cranberry jam, I made the jam. If it has fudge, I made it. If there’s bacon-and there IS bacon- I cooked and crumbled and candied it, if there’s toffee, I agonized over it and probably threw away 2 batches for every one that came out right. The best part is being able to create everything the way I want it to be, the best way I possibly can.

The best cocoa powder. The best spices. The best fruits, whether they are fresh, dried, or frozen. No canned stuff. No dyes or colors, or artificial anything. What you see is what you taste…am I a snob, (yes) or isn’t that how it should be? I could stay on this soap box, but I think the proof is in the quality and flavor. I make small batches (6 quarts at a time) so I can really focus on the process and give every pint the attention it deserves.

I’m not going to say I am the best at everything, because I still can’t seem to get caramel right…sure I could get the stuff in a jar and save myself a whole bunch of time, but shortcuts aren’t really my style when it comes to making ice cream.

This process takes a lot longer and costs a lot more to produce than your ordinary ice cream. These are not your supermarket tubs. This is not your local scoop shop. My goal is for these flavors to each be an experience.

My other goal is to open my own production space in Norwalk, where I’ve lived for the past 17 years, and have no intention of leaving.

This sounds awfully serious, doesn’t it? While I DO take my product seriously, I am not a very serious person. I’m actually kind of an awkward goofball with an odd sense of humor…so if you find any ridiculous memes, or funny animal videos, or PUNS that make you want to HEADPALM yourself so hard it hurts, please send them to me because I love them. Also, just because I love fancy desserts doesn’t mean I’m above an occasional can of spaghettios.

I really, really hope you enjoy my ice cream. I LOVE FEEDBACK, even if it’s critical. This helps me improve!

If your ice cream has too much of something or not enough of another, or if you bite a lemon seed, or don’t like the texture, or if it doesn’t taste the way you think it should, PLEASE email me! If you have flavor suggestions, tell me! I don’t care how strange they are! Some of my favorite flavors have started off as an idea or a joke. How else does bacon end up in ice cream?

Life is short, eat the good stuff :)
